HOW TO USE TURMERIC IN FOOD?

1. Yellow rice: Rice is all time favourite and can be eaten in a variety of ways. One simple way to consume turmeric is to add it to plain rice along with some veggies.
Ingredients used- Turmeric powder, white rice, green vegetables, 2 onions, 2 tomatoes, salt, jeera, cooking oil & black pepper powder.
Preparation Time- 15-20 minutes
How to Make- Boil rice & let it cool for a few minutes. Chop onions, vegetables & tomatoes. Take a pan & add two spoons of edible oil to it. Add jeera, onions, tomatoes & vegetables. Sprinkle a little turmeric to the mixture along with salt & black pepper. After 3-5 minutes of heating, add rice to the mixture. Mix the preparation well. Serve with fresh coriander leaves.
2. Scrambled eggs:
Ingredients used- Two eggs, salt, cooking oil, milk, black pepper powder, turmeric powder
Preparation & cooking Time- 10-15 minutes
How to make- Beat eggs in a bowl along with a little milk, black pepper, salt & turmeric powder. Take a pan & apply cooking oil on to the surface. Spread the mixture on to the heated pan. Turn & toss as the mixture heats & settles down. Serve with cheese or fresh coriander leaves.
3. Turmeric Milk: Turmeric, when used with milk, has a wonderful healing effect on the body. It is an age-old way of using turmeric to acquire strengthening power.
Ingredients used- Milk, turmeric powder
Preparation & cooking Time- 3-5 minutes
How to make- Take a glass of milk & warm it. Add some turmeric powder to the hot milk & stir it enough to dissolve the powder completely in it. Drink this milk daily in the morning or at bedtime to gain best benefits.
4. Turmeric Egg Soup: Soup is a very healthy dish & is best suited for health- conscious people. It is a light & delicious snack.
Ingredients used- Ground turmeric, cooking oil, egg, ginger, garlic, black pepper powder, salt, water
Preparation Time- 10-15 minutes
How to make- Take one tablespoon oil in a pan. Heat the oil & add chopped garlic & ginger to it. Now add turmeric to the paste & fry it for few minutes. Break the egg & add it to the mixture. Add water & heat until the preparation boils properly. Add salt as per your taste.
5. Turmeric & Carrot smoothie: Smoothies are tasty healthy drinks that can be taken at breakfast or snack time.
Ingredients used- Ground turmeric, carrot, ginger, banana, mango, almond milk.
Preparation & cooking Time- 10-15 minutes
How to make- Grate 1 ginger & turmeric. Blend carrot, ginger, banana, mango along with almond milk. Add the ginger & turmeric paste & blend again properly. Serve it with some ice.
6. Roasted Vegetables: Roasted vegetables are yummy in taste & go a long way in maintaining fitness.
Ingredients used- Green Vegetables, onions, edible oil, salt, black pepper powder
Preparation & cooking Time- 30-40 minutes.
How to make- Chop & place all the vegetables in a bowl. Add oil to the vegetables in the bowl. Toss & turn all the vegetables so that oil gets evenly applied to the chopped veggies. Add salt, black pepper & turmeric powder to the mixture. Spread the vegetables on a roasting pan. Roast for around 30 minutes & then serve with mint chutney.
7. Turmeric & Vegetable Salad: Salads are appropriate for every occasion. These are healthy dishes that lead to easy satiation.
Ingredients used- Turmeric, lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, onion, and tomatoes, garlic, ginger, olive oil, black pepper powder, salt.
Preparation Time- 15-20 minutes.
How to make- Wash all the vegetables. Chop lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, onions & tomatoes. Blend ginger, garlic, turmeric, 1 spoon of olive oil, black pepper & salt to make smooth turmeric salad dressing. Toss and mix vegetables properly in a large bowl. Sprinkle turmeric dressing on it.
